💚 Another NZ music week show where we have been blessed with some fantastic new releases while also uncovering some older gems.

We start off gently, then pick things up with a Rockers Hif-Fi stomper. We continue to cycle through the genre windmill before landing on our Obtuse Tune Of The Week which is a deep, dark, and captivating 2019 collaboration betwee Klinical and Fre4knc.

We sneak in some Jai Paul and Burial for out atmospheric synth loving divas. And land on a live recording from Joe Armon-Jones and Mala for Live Before the Entertainment Guide. The final hour sees a plethora of new release, a dub section before ending on a tribute to acknowledge the passing of Herbs and all round legend of Aotearoa music, Willie Hona.

Thank you to all of you who came out and gave your energy to Fancy New Band last Friday at the tuning fork, that was very much appreciated.

💚 Happy NZ Music Month angels. This week's show sees plenty of new music (unreleased Caru even) and older hidden gems, from Joni Mitchell to Libyan and Nigerian Funk to Dubstep to Shoegaze and all inbetween this show goes deep and wide! We also pay tribute with some listener requests to the late great MC Conrad who sadly passed on Tuesday.

Our Obtuse Track of the Week sees a wobbly Alix Perez number. And Live before the Entertainment Guide picks out a Talking Heads classic.

Thank you to all who texted in for the gorgeous Steinlager chilly bin and congrats to Kelsey for taking out the W.

A delightful Dombrace remix and King Krule cover of Connan Mockasin take these two slots for this week. Long haired Johnny manages to force a Bowie remix at the end of the show too.💚

💚 An electronic / dubby / jazz-adjacent first hour sees returns from old favourites Mala, Calibre, Glass Beams & Nilüfer Yanya. Look out for a controversial appearance of a Kate Bush cover and a brand spanking newYard Act release.

Things get taken down a bit at the start of the second hour, think more ethereal and dream poppy: Beach House, HTRK. 

The final hour has a few classics from the likes of the Headless Chickens and Eric B. & Rakim with a scattering of great singles from the tail end of 2023 + some campy dance adjacent selections via Tokischa / Ninajirachi.

Hopefully something for everyone.
